The Dos and Don'ts of Nail Art

The Dos and Don'ts of Nail Art
Dos and Donts Title DOS  DO make sure you have a manicurist that you trust so that if they want to try new designs out, you know they will look good. DO Watch the length. As amazing as celebrities look with super long claw like nails when they are performing and promoting, remember us normal girls have to go to work every day, apply our own make up and do our own washing up. Crazy long nails may not be totally practical. You don’t want to get super long extensions then realise you can’t type on your laptop or god forbid, text? DO Think about the colour. Your neon nails with 3D gems may look great on Saturday night when you are out clubbing with the girls – but will they look so great at your meeting with your boss on Monday morning? If you are in a job where you have to wear a suit and business attire everyday, a super bright nail colour may not be the best idea. DON'TS DON’T leave them. If one falls off or breaks, the stylists say to get it fixed straight away. It looks bad, and ruins the look of the whole thing. The three nail technicians we spoke to said they would be more than happy to fix a nail if a client came back to them saying one had come loose – it’s their job to make your nails look fab and they don’t mind fixing them for you. DON’T ever pull nail extensions off yourself, whether they are gel or acrylic. You will be told this when you get them done and it is an important rule to follow. The special glue nail technicians use is extremely strong and can burn your skin if you rip it off carelessly. Soak your tips in acetone and wait for the glue to melt enough for your tips to come off easily. It won’t harm your nails meaning they’ll be strong enough to get done again – it’s a win win! DON’T complain about giving up our time. If you love a certain design, or have an idea of your own, suggest the idea to your nail technician and they will be dying to try it out. Keep in mind practicalities but getting your nails done is supposed to be fun and relaxing experience so enjoy it and don’t stress about giving up your time. By Mandy Thomson @IKRUSH_Mandy
