Monochrome Madness

Monochrome Madness
The monochrome trend is back again. We see this trend emerging every other season but this season the classic look has been given an update. Monochrome patterns are mixed with a splash of colour and shapes are less structured and more slouchy. Black and white was one of the most important looks dominating the SS13 runways . Marc Jacobs chose thick black and white stripes while Ralph Lauren sported a more preppy look with a blazer and lace blouse. The best thing about this style is its versatility. Whether you choose to go for spots, block colours, stripes, checks or houndstooth there are multiple ways to wear this trend.  Our Elsie Oversized Cardigan is the ideal nod to this trend. Wear over jeans/leggings for a casual look and style with a bright top underneath for a pop of colour. Our fave celebs Rosie Huntington-Whitely and  Rihanna are huge fans of this look.  We love Rosie's striped monochrome jumpsuit but if you're not brave enough to dress head to toe in stripes, our Lena Striped Midi Bodycon Dress is the perfect alternative. Introducing another colour to this style would be overpowering so wear with nude accessories and a statement necklace to complete the look. Boyoncé_Monochrome Monochrome never fails to make an outfit look more sophisticated. More importantly, it is the ideal transitional trend- wear with heels or flats now and layer with tights and jackets in the winter months. By Emer O'Toole @IKRUSH_Emer
