All Shiny And New.

All Shiny And New.
When it comes to A/W 2013 a lot of the rules have been flung out the window. Used to think shiny things were only for girly girls right? Well, this seasons biggest trend is for every style, from grunge to ladylike chic. Screen Shot 2013-09-02 at 17.13.24 Metallic and shine was seen on many of the A/W catwalks, with designers taking their own spin on things. Metallic mesh was seen contrasting tailored looks in Anthony Vaccarello, Chloé and Paco Rabbanne’s collections (From Left to Right). Far from being the medieval heavy links you would expect however, the delicate designs complemented feminine shapes and contrasted masculine styling such as at Rabbanne.   Screen Shot 2013-09-02 at 17.24.27 High shine fabrics were another hit with everything from bright pink and shiny suits to the blood red ensembles seen in the Burberry shows (Above). A wet look material was used to make simple coats and dresses shine on the runway with this seasons essential nipped in waists giving a more feminine shape. Softer fabrics also sported the high shine look. This seasons top skirt length at knee height looks great (centre) with a touch of shine and with a woollen contrast feels more smart-casual. Would you give this one a go?

Don't worry if ladylike isn’t your thing, grunge  also got a shiny new makeover at Versace (Left) and Haider Hackman (Right). At Versace punk was the word with plaid and a hight neck collar contrasting the shiny wet-look material. The detailing contrasted  going for simple, feminine hair and make-up, with this seasons just above the knee length showing up again. Haider Hackmans take was more masculine with punk being in the hair and make-up, and a high shine silver fabric complementing sharp tailoring.
