3 Ways To Wear – Footwear Edit.

Footwear Can Be Everything.

So, It can be hard to think of footwear as more than just high heels for one occasion or as trainers for everyday use. How can you find the in-between bit with everything from boots to sandals and still have styles that you won’t just wear once and never put on again. Yip we all have that lonely place in our wardrobe for ankle boots that we found in the sale (probably still have the £5 tag on) and once worn walking boots. That’s why we are dedicating todays blog to finding shoes that you will wear again and again  and showing just how to do it! Watch out footwear the IKRUSH style team is coming to get you! Although in saying that we are probably going to miss out on sandals and flip flops for not. The weather is much more suited to Dr Martens or other womens boots.  

It’s Not Just High Heels That Are Footwear Fabulous.

So, let’s just check that we all know this blog isn’t just about fancy high heels for nights out, we are going to show you how to wear all sorts of shoes in your own way to lot’s of different occasions.   Before we start though we have to show you this video we came across when researching boots. Don't ask us how... Just enjoy...     Let’s first now get back on track and take a look at some inspiration on how other types of shoes can make just as big of a wave as heels.   footwear-boots-shoes-high-heels-chunky-IKRUSH   There were two main styles we found that totally wowed us. Not a heel in sight either. Well not a high heel anyway… Our first love has to be chunky, boyfriend style footwear with thick soles and a nice shine. The left hand pair are by Dries Van Noten and have a simple but very effect style. Something a bit louder came from Prada in the form of super chunky soled boots. A thick tread can give a chic boot a quirky edge and looks great with lot’s of different outfits.   footwear-boots-shoes-high-heels-knee-highs-IKRUSH   Our next top had to be thigh high and knee high boots. One gorgeous pair (left) from Balenciaga looked particularly amazing with a long curved hem skirt that showed off the boots but gave a nice shape to the legs too. The suede style is great as it can be dressed either up or down. Tom Ford also look a textured approach in his choice of material, opting for furry boots in a thigh high style. Definitely a show stopper with that subtle but luxurious shine. Balenciaga is a brand we absolutely love (covet may be more of the word, the piggy banks are needing filling for it though!) and we were pretty amazed by how much we loved the new face of their fragrence... Ladies, it’s time to make your shoes worth every penny, ditch the slippers and get our there to work everything from ladies boots to a shoe with a quirky differernce. We think that a casual style is perfect for these trend forward shoes. What will be different about each style though is what you can wear rather than where you can wear it. Let’s start with our velvet animal print skater dress which is a great option for casual wear if you would prefer to keep a girlish side with the shape. There is nothing better than a skater dress to show off your curves in all the right ways you know! Style two would be to team the creepers with our high waisted acid wash skinny jeans which will make sure your style is just that little bit edgy. The acid wash effect has been big this season and these jeans in red are a great way to get a colour pop without using anything too bright. Lastly, we though that something altogether different would be perfect. Black and white have been making it big and with this monochrome striped maxi skirt you will not only be hitting the trend boxes but giving yourself a great shape too. This look is perfect for a casual night at the pub over the holiday season!   footwear-boots-shoes-high-heels-wedges-IKRUSH   What about those super high cut out platform wedges? Well these are certainly better for party looks. We picked three gorgeous dresses for 3 inevitable scenarios… Our first dress is our top pick for those nights where you know you need to get dresses up but just aren’t sure how dressed up you need to be. Stick a necklace in your handbag and you can dress it up or simply stick with the wedges for an easy and relaxed vibe. This velvet and chiffon long sleeved skater dress is a great party dress, one of our fav LBDs that we have in right now! You could wear this with our wedges to any event you want to look your best at. With long sleeves and a skater style this dress is flattering for most shapes. Confidence boost 101! So whether it’s a club night or a house party, don the wedges and this dress and your ready to go. Last up we have the leopard print shift dress. This is our pick for date night, especially if it’s a first date. The shape is relaxed enough that you won’t seem like you have overdone it but with the wedges you will still look your best as a little height can create a slimming effect. Yep so that's the second time animal print has popped up! We do however have a pretty good reason for it... There has been style inspiration snapped straight from the catwalks. Keep your eyes peeled an you'll see a few examples in this Jean Paul Gaultier catwalk...   We even saw some Twitter selfies where the publi have been showing some leopard print love.     Oh and Paris Hilton herself too...       footwear-boots-shoes-high-heels-knee-high-boots-style-IKRUSH     Ohh we do love these faux suede and leather boots! Taking from the trends that we showed above, it’s clear that knee high boots are a great way to work your own style your own way this season. We wanted to steal a bit more inspiration though and thought that our leatherette jacket has a similar shape to the skirt from Balenciaga. This shape is super slimming and the jacket with go with lot’s of different styles. We wear this one to work! Jeans can be an obvious choice for knee high boots but our khaki high waist skinny jeans are a great way to mix up your colour palette. Black on Khaki gives quite a preppy feel and we think this combo is our top for a shopping day outfit, especially during the cold weather. Brrr! Day dresses are a great way to balance the casual smart vibe. We love this high neck Aztec skater dress with these boots. An ideal look for lunch with the girls or the family. The high neck is great way to work the neckline trend of the season. Who would have thought that turtlenecks would make a comeback..?   footwear-boots-shoes-high-heels-boots-style-IKRUSH   Our last piece of footwear is the block heels buckle boots which are our favourite boots with a heel! Our first outfit choice is the ideal combo for a work wear outfit or simply just for anywhere you need to look smart for! The cut out tartan dress is one of our favourite dresses right now. There is nothing better than wearing a smart style but with a trend forward touch. For something a little less formal to team with your footwear, we think that these cross print leggings are a great choice for wearing with boots for a night at the pub. Don’t forget, these go really well with knitwear if you’re looking to keep cosy or with casual tops for a lighter outfit. Our last piece is one of our favourite items of the season- skorts. Skorts have really made an impression on the fashion world this season and when put in combo with tartan you are on to a trend winner. The wrap mini tartan skort looks gorgeous when teamed with the boots and some tights. So that’s it for our footwear revamps. We’d like to bet that you have found at least one style you love!
